Claremorris Colts RFC are seeking to appoint an ambitious, organised and enthusiastic Head Coach to lead the club’s Junior Men’s XV for the 2026/2027 season.
The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing, developing and guiding the team through the Connacht Junior League J2 and Ard na Cregg cup campaigns, with a strong focus on player development, team performance, standards and club culture.
This is an exciting opportunity for a coach who is passionate about grassroots rugby, committed to improving players, and eager to make a meaningful impact within a growing community-driven club.
Plan and deliver senior men’s team training sessions during pre-season and throughout the season.
Lead the team on matchdays and provide clear tactical, technical and motivational guidance.
Develop and implement a playing style suited to the squad, while promoting positive, modern rugby principles.
Support the development of players of all experience levels, with a focus on progression, standards and enjoyment.
Work closely with club officers, team management and support staff to ensure strong organisation around training, matchdays and player availability.
Help foster a positive, inclusive and ambitious team environment in line with the values of Claremorris Colts RFC.
Contribute to the long-term development of senior rugby within the club, including links with younger players progressing into adult rugby.
A motivated and forward-thinking coach with strong communication and leadership skills.
Coaching experience at club, school, youth or adult level is a bonus.
A good understanding of junior rugby and the demands of the Connacht J2 league structure.
A commitment to player development, team progress and building strong club culture.
IRFU coaching qualifications are desirable. Stage 3 or higher would be an advantage, but all suitable candidates will be considered.
Player-coach applicants may also be considered.
Pre-season:
August to September
Two sessions per week, with days and times to be agreed
In-season:
Training: Tuesday and Friday evenings, 7:30pm – 9:00pm
Matchdays: Saturdays, typically 7:00pm | Sundays, typically 1:30pm – 5:30pm
Occasional club events, coaching workshops and CPD opportunities
